Joy Hankins is the Founder and CEO of The Joy of Curls LLC, a plant-based hair care brand with a mission to support the foster care community.  When becoming a foster parent, Joy was told there is a need for black families in this community. She took it as a personal charge to offer support to children of color in foster care.  After recognizing a need in the market for clean products to recommend to families,  Joy hired Cindy J Labs to formulate products for multi-use that are safe enough for children. Joy has been selected by Goldman Sachs in their One Million Black Women: Black in Business program, she is the Grand Prize Pitch Winner of the Hyvee OpportUNITY Summit and her Pumpkin Baby product was named “Best For Curly Hair” by Glamour Magazine. Joy enjoys quality time with her husband and kids, traveling, Salsa dancing and all things natural hair.
