With a passionate focus on research and development in the clean beauty space and a keen understanding of the market trends, Sharonda Newsome currently serves as Director of Scientific Affairs at Happy Farm Botanicals Laboratories. During her seven plus years with the FDA registered and ISO certified Maryland-based custom formulation and manufacturing facility, Sharonda has mentored and collaborated with a team of talented chemists, while herself developing an array of innovative skin care, hair care, and personal care formulas that continue to launch as award-winning, top-selling products in major retailers. She is a proud Howard alumnus (Go Bison).  Ms. Newsome’s background as an educator, and the strong communication skills built from her years teaching, have made her a preferred scientific partner for brands, product consultants, and suppliers alike. She thrives in creating prototypes for her established clients and pioneering sustainable and distinct ingredient combinations with compelling and effective user experiences.
